JU is a private university located in Jacksonville, Fla., on the banks of St. Johns River. JU was founded in 1934 by William J. Porter University (two years of college). School Tainted its name to Jacksonville College in 1935. College became JU, than in 1956, after she moved to its present location six years ago.
