Chamberlain College of Nursing to begin a strong and historical basis for 120 years
preparing compassionate, knowledgeable and clinical graduates. Formerly known as
Deaconess College of Nursing, the new name Chamberlain College of Nursing is powered
by intelligence progressive and comprehensive programs in nursing. Founded in 1889,
the school changed from a diploma nursing school to school nurses, and offering
both ASN BSN degrees. In March 2005, acquired DeVry inc. Deaconess. Validity of
the contract of sale is that the use of DeVry Deaconess name expires on September
30, 2006, which requires a new name. The new name Chamberlain indicates the strength
of a solid historical foundation and his wife, and positioning the school for future
growth. Chaumberlein comes from the Middle English word that means the chief butler,
the name also refers to the role of the nurse as manager and coordinator of patient
care.
