Data protection is closely related to information security and the terms are sometimes used as synonyms. However, a broader meaning, IA also includes reliability and emphasizes strategic risk management over tools and tactics. In addition to protecting against hackers and malicious code (eg viruses), IA includes other corporate governance issues such as privacy, compliance, audit, business continuity and disaster recovery. In addition, while information security draws primarily computer science, IA is interdisciplinary and draws on several areas, including accounting, fraud examination, forensic science, management science, systems engineering, security, engineering and criminology, in addition to computer science . Thus, IM is better seen as an extension of information security. Information security is not only computer security, because it includes security issues, not related to computers.
