Non-profit organizations (NPOs reduction as well as not-for-Profit) is an organization that does not distribute its surplus funds of owners or shareholders, but instead uses them to help pursue their goals. Examples include the NSS charities (ie charities), trade unions, social organizations and the arts. Most governments and government agencies to meet this definition, but in most countries they are treated as a separate type of organization and not counted as NPOs.

If for-profit corporations exist to make and distribute taxable income of the business for shareholders, non-profit corporation exists only for programs and services that are in the public interest. Those requiring treatment, and that, in turn, begins with the mission of the organization.
