How to take Advantage of the Green Movement to Get a High-Paying Job
A green-movement job (or a green-collar job) is simply a blue-collar or low-skilled, job that has been tailored to cater to the environment. Both kinds of jobs exist in the same industries, and both do not require formal training most of the time. As such, not much effort is required to upgrade your job from a blue-collar job to a green-collar one. By acquiring a simple set of additional skills, a vast pay differential may be achieved.
A few simple examples of how traditional blue-collar jobs may be upgraded are explained below.
Building Retrofitting
Retrofitters are responsible for adding additional features to revamp houses and buildings. In the past, they were limited to renovation for aesthetic purposes only. Now, however, retrofitting is focused towards adding features such as tinted windows and insulations to houses to reduce wastage of energy.
Mass Transit
Mass Transit now focuses the skills of engineers towards designing cleaner engines which minimize fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions. Engineers simply need to acquire additional knowledge about how this may be achieved, in addition to their previously existing skill set.
Alternative Energy
Electrical engineers are utilizing the age-old principles of energy generation to determine how to obtain energy from renewable sources such as wind and the sun. At the same time, new alternative sources of energy are being looked into. The largest research conducted is being centered on renewable energy resources that will never run out. One of the most significant breakthroughs in alternative energy is the hydrogen-cell technology that will result in cheap and harmless fuel. The entire process and research at the end would not affect the job market as the same job descriptions would grow into practice opening doors for more work opportunities.
