Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a master's degree in business administration, which attracts people from a wide range of academic disciplines. The MBA designation originated in the United States, arising from the late 19th century as the industrialized countries and companies sought out scientific approaches to management. Basic courses in the MBA program designed to introduce students to different areas of business such as accounting, marketing, human resources, operations management, etc. Students in the MBA program have the opportunity to choose an area of concentration and focus about one third of its research in this area.

MBA programs expose students to a variety of subjects, including: accounting, economics, finance, international business, organizational behavior, marketing, strategy, operations management, and students may choose to specialize in a particular area. Traditionally, students study a wide breadth of courses in the first year of the program, and then conduct customized training programs in the second year. Full-time students typically seek an internship during the interim period.
