Project managers help to streamline and manage the supply chain ensuring top quality products are delivered for the lowest cost at the appropriate time to the right location. They may assist stores with developing, increasing, or maintaining an internet presence via customer-friendly e-commerce sites while also helping companies in the development of IT infrastructure.
Qualified project managers are also in demand in the food and beverage industry. Project managers help companies to relocate, purchase, or construct new production facilities or factories. They may also assist with the construction of new machinery -- bringing in new technology to improve hygiene as well as production rates. Those who hold degrees and certificates, such as the master of project management, may also work on the development of purchasing systems, new packaging, or in the launching of new products and brands in the marketplace.
Obtaining a graduate certificate in project management also offers opportunities for those who enjoy working in the creative fields of art and design. In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as strategic design becomes more important, employers in the field of commercial and industrial design are seeking designers with project management skills.
