Perfect Job
I have been offered a job by a great recruiting company, but I'm having trouble deciding if this job is right for me. What are the pros and cons of a job like this?
You have to make a very calculated decision about a job that you take for once you enter the work life, you life revolves around your job-finances, family, recreation, personal satisfaction, so on and so forth. So it is very important that you think through the following points before taking any decisions:
Yourself: what kind of a person are you? What are your interests, likes and dislikes? Your strengths and weaknesses will have a major impact on your productivity, so make sure your job specification and personality are similar.
Expectations: what are you looking for in a job? Do you require flexible hours or is career growth your main focus? Whether you perform better with team or individually, does field work bother you…consider all these specifications to make sure you are not bothered by any surprises.
Values: does the company’s profile offend your values in any way? Check it out before deciding.
Education: you must have seen many people graduating with a degree in finance but working with HR. This is not rare but definitely not advisable-if you invested so much time and money to earn a degree, better use it as well. But if the other field has you interested, then surely you can give it a thought.
You can also use questionnaires available online to make assessment, but do not make up any decisions without thoroughly thinking through.
