Online Associate Degree Programs in Medical Assistant
Medical personnel can be certified or registered medical personnel who perform administrative and clinical tasks that keep the offices of licensed practitioners smoothly. They should not be confused with physician assistants. The term "Medical Assistant" may have legal status in some countries, while in others they may be loosely defined groups. Historically, nurses in the United States have been trained-on-job medical support staff, without a specific identity group. The American Medical Association (AAMA) was founded in 1956. Assistants have traditionally held the work almost exclusively in ambulatory care centers, emergency medical and hospitals, but this is changing. Assistants now find employment in private and public hospitals, as well as inpatient and outpatient facilities.
