Writing Fellows Courses help students improve their skills in working with students of Brown, who was trained in composition and pedagogy. In "fellowed" course, students receive a detailed commentary on at least two of the draft document during the semester. Professors receive a first draft, with annotations to Writing fellows, and the final documents, so that they can review the process of their students. Writing Fellows do not grade papers. Like their peers, Fellows serve as sympathetic readers, providing informed, constructive criticism aimed at the reasoning, analysis, organization, clarity and style of documents.
